INTERCOM
To call someone on intercom, either pick up the handset and press INTERCOM (if it is not already illuminated), or just press INTERCOM to call hands-free.
Then press the appropriate numbers from the chart above, or press a pre-programmed button (if any) on the phone.

If you hear a beep, that means that the other phone is set up for "call announcing with hands-free response," and you can start talking immediately after the beep, which announces your call to the other person.

If you hear a conventional ringing tone instead of a beep, that means that the other phone is set up for ringing, and you will have to wait for someone to answer before you can speak.

Keep in mind that hands-free conversations operate in only one direction at a time, so you have to take turns.

If you call someone on intercom and get a busy signal, and your call is URGENT, you can signal the other person by dialing 1 (if the other phone is set-up for "internal call waiting").

DOOR INTERCOM
If someone calls from a door intercom, there will be a distinctive burst of three rings from all phones that are programmed to respond to door calls, and display phones will show "Door Phone 1, or "Door Phone 2", etc. Just pick up a handset or press SP-PHONE, and talk. If your phone stops ringing before you have a chance to answer, dial 311 for the front door, or 312 for the back door, or 313 etc. if you have more doors..

PAGING
If you don't know where someone is, you can make an announcement to all of the phones, instead of searching room-by-room.

Simply pick up the handset and press INTERCOM (if that button is not already illuminated) and dial 330. You will hear a beep, and then you can make an announcement, such as "Bill, Charlie is on line one."

If you want to have a conversation rather than just make an announcement, dial 330 and say "Bill, please call 43."

43 is the response to 330. If someone hears the original announcement and dials 43, he will be connected to the person who dialed 330, and the speakers in other phones will be shut off.

REDIAL
Your system may have the ability to recognize a busy signal, and then hang up and dial again. Try to get in the habit of dialing hands-free (using the speakerphone). If you get a busy signal, press REDIAL. The phone will try the call again immediately; and if another busy signal is encountered, it will start a sequence of multiple calls until the call is answered.
If the call is not answered within about 15 minutes, the redialing will stop, but you can restart it by tapping REDIAL.

The REDIAL button can also be used for an individual attempt to call the previous number you dialed. Just tap REDIAL.

CONFERENCE
You can speak with two other people outside the house at the same time. You can do this with two incoming calls, two outgoing calls, or one of each. After speaking to someone on one line, press CONF, and speak to someone on the other line and press CONF again. This will put the three of you together. At the end of the conference, if you want to speak to just one person, press the line button for the person you want to keep, and the other call will be dropped.

SINGLE-LINE PHONES
The first dial tone you hear with a single-line phone is usually INTERCOM dial tone. You can dial another phone within the house or business, or press 9 to get dial tone for an outside call. You can put a call on hold and switch to intercom by pressing the FLASH button, or hang up briefly.

You can get a call that was put on hold elsewhere, by dialing 53 plus the line number, with two digits (e.g.: dial 5302 for line #2). You can also dial 51 plus the intercom number where the call was put on hold.
