A Panasonic
Voice Processing System can record Voice Mail messages for all of your staff or family, and provide Automated Attendant, Bulletin Board and other
services. It can even automatically forward calls outside the office, and activate beepers when messages have been recorded.
Message-storage capacity
ranges from two hours in
the KX-TVS50, to 32 hours in the VS300. Mailbox capacity ranges from 32
to 1024 boxes.
Callers can select from three languages, or
specific languages can be assigned to specific incoming phone lines. You can record a message in your mailbox, to
be delivered to any phone, anywhere, at a specified time; and set up Interview Service to record answers to as many as 10 questions. You can also use the system to record phone calls, and dispense information, such
as business hours, travel directions, special prices, fax numbers and email addresses; so
employees are not tied-up reciting answers to common questions.
The Automated Attendant
feature is extremely flexible. If you like, you can have it answer ALL calls, or only calls
that are not answered by human beings, or only after-hour calls, or only calls on certain
lines.
The system can provide live call screening, like
listening to the speaker on an answering machine, through the speaker on your
desk phone, the
handset, or even a cordless away from your desk. On up to 20 holidays, the system can automatically
deliver a special message, with holiday greetings and your holiday schedule. Installation
and programming are easy when used with one of AbleComm's digital Panasonic
systems. You can have a system working an hour after you hang it on the wall.

- Number of ports indicates the number of
simultaneous conversations that can be handled. If you
want the system to provide automated attendant service as
well as voice mail, you probably will need more ports than
if it provides voice mail only.
- You will probably use voice processing
more than you expect, so pick a system that has growth
capacity. We don't know of anyone who regretted getting a
bigger system than they thought they needed, but many
people have regretted buying a system that was too small.
